Cendol (Indonesia / Malaysia) — Rice flour jelly noodles with coconut milk, palm sugar syrup, red beans, and shaved ice. 

Crema Catalana (Spain) — Milk-based custard with cinnamon and citrus, topped with caramelised sugar.

Cannoli (Sicily, Italy) — Crispy fried shell filled with creamy ricotta filling.

Nanaimo Bars (Canada) — A three-layer dessert with a wafer, nut and coconut crumb base, a custard icing middle, and a chocolate ganache top.

Lamington (Australia / New Zealand) -— A sponge cake square dipped in chocolate, and rolled in desiccated coconut.

Japanese Cheesecake (Japan) — A pillowy soft cheesecake with a meringue in the cream cheese batter.

Linzer Torte (Austria) — Named after the city of Linz, this has a hazelnut and walnut base, with a fruit jam and peek-a-boo lattice top.

Polvorón (Spain / Philippines) — A crumbly, soft shortbread cookie made with nuts and flour, coated in icing sugar.

Mango Sticky Rice (Thailand) — Glutinous rice doused in thick and sweetened coconut milk, served with fresh mango pieces.

Pastelitos Criollos (Argentina) — Star-shaped crispy pastry, filled with sweet potato preserve.

Dragon's Beard Candy (China) — Sugar floss wrapped around sesame, crushed peanuts, or coconut.

Umm Ali (Egypt) — A pudding made of puff pastry layered with sweetened milk, nuts, coconut, and raisins. 

Tavukgöğsü (Turkey) — A milk pudding made with chicken breast, flavoured with cinnamon and vanilla. 

Clafoutis (France) — A crust-less tart-like dessert made from cherries and a flan-based batter that is baked and dusted with sugar. 

Baba Au Rhum (France) — Small yeast cakes soaked in a boozy sweet syrup, served with whipped cream or pastry cream.

You're curious often, sure, but maybe you shy away from a lot of new things (at first) because you're afraid they won't match your vibe? Don't worry, for there's always a sweet treat that is right up your alley, somewhere in the world. 

15 years or younger

16 to 19 years old

You're still kinda-sorta-maybe figuring out what you like, but you certainly know what you don't like, and that's a good start! Sure, that may mean you get into a few social media arguments with people, from time-to-time, but it's all going to be worth it in the end. Right? Right?!

20 to 23 years old

You know you're not a reckless kid anymore, but you're not a super adult either! So you're happy to make a few risky moves, even with your palate, so that you can get a taste of everything the world has to offer before life really happens to you. Go, adventure away!

24 to 27 years old

It's not the same as it used to be, is it? You enjoy your comfort zones and you are really starting to get set in your ways because your priority right now is to go the marathon distance, not run a sprint — even when it comes to food. You do you, boo!

28 to 32 years old

You're now officially old enough to know the exact consequences on your body when you try unfamiliar foods, and, you know what? You're better off without too many experiments, now. So long as you find the space to indulge in the things you really like, every now and then, what's the harm?

33 years or older
